Brrrilliant

quoting some of the lines of one of my favorite movies of all time...Goodwill Hunting!

This is a conversation which takes place between Sean played by Robin Williams and Will played by Matt Damon

Sean-
If I ask you about women, you'll probably give me a syllabus of your personal favorites. You may have even been laid a few times. But you can't tell me what it feels like to wake up next to a woman... and feel truly happy.

If I asked you about love, you'd probably quote me a sonnet, but you've never looked at a woman and been totally vulnerable. Known someone that could level you with her eyes. Feelin' like God put an angel on Earth just for you, who could rescue you from the depths of hell. And you wouldn't know what it's like to be her angel, to have that love for her be there forever. Through anything. Through cancer. And you wouldn't know about sleepin' sittin' up in a hospital room... for two months, holding her hand, because the doctors could see in your eyes... that the terms "visiting hours" don't apply to you. You don't know about real loss, 'cause that only occurs when you love something more than you love yourself.

NOSTALGIA

saw this kid going to school while i was headed for office the other day...skinny chap..well oiled well combed hair...a clean white shirt...nicely polished shoes..reminded me of me! also reminded me of how i used to go back home after coming to the school..shabby with my shirt all muddy and hanging out with ink stains and shoes so dirty that one might think that i picked it up from a garbage dump actually one time a primary school teacher had said i looked like a daily wage labourer working on a construction site! boy those were the days...my memory when it comes to things like work has been pathetic to say the least!i conveniently forget THE most important things...my deliverables and stuff like that at work..was the same at school..i would invariably forget to bring some homework, assignment blah blah all the time..i would either remember it too late...mostly while i would be stepping inside the school gate or until someone in class asks me if i have remembered just to see the look on my face when i tell them i forgot! creeps...

I would get beaten to pulp by my teachers....i have had quite a record of maximum punishment at the hands of a particular hindi teacher who would burden us with some godforsaken homework everyday and i had got so used to all the punishment mainly those slaps and the kneeling downs that after a point i was like what the heck i would take the punishment rather than spend hours writing crap i dint believe in.

this particular teacher had a routine which she followed every day almost like clockwork. she would come ask everyone about the classwork and make someone check if they are saying the truth and then conduct random checks to make sure the guy who is checking them also is saying the truth..the point is she never actually sat and valued the classwork or anything just made sure that it was there in her own twisted way.

then she would follow the ritual of slapping a student by slowly removing the rings on her fingers and wack wack wack phew and then she would make us kneel down.this torture i endured till my 10th!

there were other teachers like our vice princi who was equally a bad ass...his slaps were famous too..they could make a student bleed..i somehow managed to stay clear of him thanks to my brother's reputation of being a topper..thanks Bro for that!

the last princi who i am glad i dint have to endure for more than 2-3 years was a terror...a mean m!@#$&*^()#r who was sadistic and derived utmost pleasure in "disciplining" the kids...even the girls werent spared...the horrors of it all..phew

there was this incident when me and my friend got kicked out of the classroom for talkin and unfortunately for us the princi was on one his rounds ...we were kneelin down outside the classroom and he came removed my friend's belt which btw he had forgotten to put it in the loops..so the belt came off easily and what followed was a thrashing i cant never forget..phew

the horrors of school will forever be a part of my memory ofcourse now i can laugh it off but things back then were scary..

all in all school was great fun...great memories....arguably the best

still feel awesome when me and my pal from 2nd grade visit the school once every coupla years :)
